Selection order

Rite treats the first selected shape group/layer as the Target and the second selected shape group/layer as the Source. You can select actual shape groups/paths, or select shape layers that contain one top-level shape group.

Union

Puts the Target and Source shapes together. The result is added into the Target shape, and the old selected shapes are hidden.

Subtract

Cuts the Target shape out of the Source shape. The result keeps the Source look, and the old selected shapes are hidden.

Intersect

Keeps only the part where the Target and Source overlap. Everything outside the overlap is removed, and the old selected shapes are hidden.

Crop

Crop uses two selected shapes: Target and Source. It makes a new shape from how they overlap or cut each other.

Target

Keeps only the part of the Target that is inside the Source. The Target is hidden, but the Source stays visible.

Source

Cuts the Target out of the Source. The result keeps the Source look, and both old selected shapes are hidden.
